Packing Houses for apples,
peaches and nectarines |
Based on our extensive
experience in providing turn-key projects for a
versatile range of packing systems, we present here
a prototype project. Juran has planned and designed
packing systems for use in Israel, Panama, China,
Venezuela and many other countries. In addition to
the fruit mentioned above, we have developed packing
systems for melons in Panama and Venezuela, and for
litchis in China. Our systems are designed to pack
from 1 ton/hour up to 70 tons/hour. |
|
Step one – Determining
type of fruit and quantities |
The first step in starting a
packing house project is to determine the kinds
of fruit to be packed and the required quantity
of each fruit, year round. Based on this data,
we calculate the quantity of fruit to be packed
per hour. |
Other required information
at this stage includes the mode of transport of
the fruit from plantation to packing house.
Conferring with our client, we determine the
kind of treatment the fruit should receive upon
arrival and during the packing process. Once we
have all this information, we can embark on the
next stage – the planning and design of the
system. |
|
Step two – System planning
and design |
Incorporating all gathered
information, our design team sets to work on a
customized system. All design plans are sent to the
client for approval. By the time the design phase is
completed, we can give our recommendation regarding
the size of the required plant to house the packing
system. |
|
Step three – Building,
shipping and installation |
Once the client has approved all
design plans and factory recommendations, building
is begun to create the required machinery for the
packing house. During this stage, all machinery is
carefully tested in the Juran factories. |
When all machinery has been
built and duly tested, it is ready for shipping to
the client's site. The Juran installation
crew arrive first, ready to receive the equipment
and assemble the packing line. |
|
Step four – On-site
running-in, training and support |
Now the packing lines are ready
to be run and tested at the customer's site. The
system is tested first without fruit, and then
tested once again with all the required varieties of
fruit. |
After comprehensive testing
confirms the working order of all system lines, the
customer's staff is trained to operate the system
and to carry out all required maintenance
procedures. The client then takes over and operates
the system with confidence in Juran's ongoing
and dedicated customer support. |
From customer requirements,
through design and construction, to final
implementation, our projects help turn customer
vision into reality. We specialize in translating
needs into technologies and systems that offer
robust solutions for any packing requirements.
Giving technological expression to innovative
knowhow, we turn our knowledge into customer
benefits. |
